Oh, for time travel back to Calvin and Hobbs! I'm delighted this made your list. You struck a mom memory with this one. When my son (now 33) was in Kindergarten we would "hang out" at our favorite coffeehouse after school, he with an Italian soda, madeleine cookies and one of the many Calvin and Hobbs books we started collecting. I always reminded him we were practicing for when he was in college and would go some place cool to study - and that it might, indeed, include reading Calvin and Hobbs because it was deep and wise and filled with life stuff. He turned out ok! xo

I have one yellow wall room in my home - I go in there when things get heavy and it feels so light. I may have only watched this video because of the walls/couch combo

I enjoyed most of the books on your list. My favorites include: A Wrinkle in Time, The Secret Garden, and The Little Princess, All the books about Misty of Assateague or was it Chincoteague, The Narnia Series, The Hobbit, Everything by Piers Anthony and Anne Mc Caffrey, Jude Devereaux and Johanna Lindsey , for romance. I enjoy Jane Austen, too. I wouldn't want to be insulting if I didn't say yours, lol but I haven't read your book, yet. I really enjoy your blog, though!

I’m impressed you were able to narrow it down to 5. My favorite book … books … include I Know This Much Is True and everything else by Wally Lamb, The Joy Luck Club, The Grapes of Wrath, Cannery Row—pretty much all of Steinbeck, Heartstopper and Loveless, The Great Gatsby, all of Fredrik Bachman. I have more of a top 50 I think.

Love this video. Calvin & Hobbs! For me, my favorite was The Great Gatsby. For some reason that book just meant a lot when I first read it in high school. I tend to reread it every couple of years. And I have multiple copies of it on my bookshelf including the one from high school. I may have recently bought the 100th year edition because, well, I had to.

I always buy a copy of Where The Wild Things Are for anyone I know who's having a baby. Essential childhood reading, and just as meaningful as an adult! Read a few weeks ago about this upcoming (posthumous, obvs) Maurice Sendak collaboration with ...Stephen King. I am 100% pre-ordering a copy of this one.

This was wonderful!! I would love to see more.

Favorite book(s)? You ask hard questions. The Stand and The Eyes of the Dragon both by Stephen King, Strangers by Dean Koontz, The Belgariad and Mallorean series and related books by David Eddings. Those are some that I read again and again.

I bought your book, but haven't read it yet. Maybe it will make the list. 😊

Excellent video, so funny and informative. I have to confess, I've never read The Grapes of Wrath. Now I will! One of my favorite books of all time is Rosshalde by Hermann Hesse.

Wonderful video❤️. I have read so many books over my lifetime that I honestly couldn't name a "favorite". Having grown up in Berlin, Germany my selection of books would have been a bit different from yours. As a kid, I spent countless hours reading all the classics. I read Molière, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, Dostojevsky, Jaroslav Hašek, Nikolai Gogol, Hermann Hesse - quite a mix, don't you think? Although I don't remember all of what I read, I believe that all that knowledge shaped me as a human being.

"It was (has been) the best of times and it was (has been) the worst of times" from Tale of Two Cities opening line is my standard response to, "how have you been?" Love the yellow room! 💛
